Co-op: Robotics Software Engineering
About The Position
Neptune Medical, is an innovative, venture capital funded medical device startup headquartered in Burlingame, CA. We have already commercialized novel medical devices using our technology. Now the team at Neptune is building something truly unique: a fully flexible medical robot that enables doctors to reach deep into human anatomy. Triton Robotic Endoscopy will disrupt flexible endoscopy and set a new standard in outcomes for decades to come. We are looking for a Software Engineering Co-Op able to contribute broadly across numerous aspects of the software ecosystem required for a complex medical robotic system. In this role you will work alongside seasoned software engineers from Intuitive Surgical and Auris Health as well as interact cross-functionally with hardware, systems and vision engineers, tackling challenging problems while learning how to develop real world, safety critical software in a production environment. The ideal candidate would act with passion and enthusiasm in a medical device start-up that is fast paced and collaborative. Requirements
- Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Robotics or similar.
- Experience with Python and/or C++.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to interact with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Developing robust code for various modules in the robotic software.
- Researching, investigating and fixing a wide range of technical issues.
- Proactively learning about new technologies.
- Debugging and testing code on the robot.
- Documenting the implemented software features.
