About The Position

The Co-op will be assigned an engineering and process improvement project aligned with Schaeffler's Seguin, Texas Quality department optimizing developing and maintaining Scrap Database Catalog. In addition, the Co-op will collaborate closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams on a daily basis, contributing to a range of innovative and technically challenging projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Data Science or related field
• Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher per semester
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication ability (written & verbal)
• Extremely self-motivated & driven to achieve results
• Assertive approach to solving problems
• Ability to prioritize
• Experience building reports in Power BI

Responsibilities

• Investigate and measure current states for all scrap process catalogs
• Create database catalog that clearly captures casual areas for scrap process, analytics and reporting
• Work with production and engineering teams to verify proper scrap coding and classification
• Assist with created and updating standard work instructions, checklists, and quality documentation related to scrap handling
• Observe, learn, and practice the fundamentals of quality management systems (QMS), Lean Manufacturing, and problem solving tools.
