About The Position

Arconic is a leading provider of aluminum sheet, plate, and extrusions, as well as innovative architectural products, that advance the automotive, aerospace, commercial transportation, industrial, packaging and building and construction markets. As suppliers to the aerospace, automotive, commercial transportation, building and construction, industrial, and packaging and consumer goods markets, our high-quality materials are the foundation for many products that touch everyday life. We're currently seeking highly motivated and energetic students to join our Arconic Co-Op Program. A co-op position with Arconic allows students to be a part of dynamic and innovative projects, while providing ample mentoring and professional development opportunities. Working alongside professionals in their field, Arconic co-ops can sharpen their skills by applying their education to real-world situations through hands-on learning, gaining invaluable experience that can be utilized in any future role. As with internships, it is Arconic's goal to evaluate its co-op associates for future potential entry-level openings, although full-time employment after completion of the program is not guaranteed. With over 20 locations across the US, there are opportunities to work in a variety of places around the country.

Requirements

  • Must be a student at either University of Tennessee - Knoxville or Tennessee Tech that qualifies for co-op status.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must be finished with Freshman year of schooling at the start of the program.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • 3.0 GPA and above.
  • Involvement in at least 1 extracurricular activity.
  • Prior work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assigned a manager and a mentor during their time at Arconic.
  • Work in an office environment and a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.
  • Collaborate with other Engineering employees on projects that have a real impact on the business.
  • Assist with maintenance, repairs, project planning, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain good standing as a co-op student with their university.

Benefits

  • Pay rate: $4k/month (~$23/hour) + $1000/month housing stipend.
  • 2 weeks of paid vacation.
