About The Position

The position as a Co-Op Engineer, in the Base System Department, will work both independently and alongside experienced engineers on the design, development, benchmarking, and prototyping of brake systems and components. Each work term includes a development plan based on academic level and/or prior experience, with responsibilities increasing along the development path.

Requirements

  • Currently attending 4-year university in pursuit of a degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Student pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Support technical development activities by gaining proficiency in Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), test methods and equipment.
  • Conduct component benchmarking, including procuring parts, measuring components and completing reports.
  • Assist in design activities including prototype builds, testing components, including physical properties testing and inspection of components and assemblies.
  • Ensure parts are delivered and/or picked up by engineering, customer or management request.
  • Generate and present “End of Term Presentation” for completed/on-going activities and desired future activities to engineering and management.
  • Perform other special projects, tasks, or duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
