About The Position

ITW Performance Polymers is seeking an Engineering Co-Op to work with the Engineering team at our Danvers, Massachusetts facility. The Engineering Co-Op will be responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in our manufacturing processes. In addition, the Co-Op will lead a capstone initiative focused on identifying process improvement opportunities and presenting actionable insights to senior leadership. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and contribute to impactful projects within a division of a market-leading Fortune 300 organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or higher.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; desire to work in a “hands-on” environment
  • Solid troubleshooting skills and the ability to assess the feasibility of engineering designs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including technical writing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for both existing and newly implemented manufacturing processes, with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Support equipment modifications and upgrades to improve performance and reliability.
  • Identify equipment needs, research and select vendors, request capital, and complete documents required for purchase.
  • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data to produce KPI’s to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
  • Performs various other duties as necessary.
