About The Position

BlueRock Therapeutics LP is a clinical stage cell therapy harnessing the power of cell therapy to create a pipeline of new medicines for people suffering from neurological and ophthalmic diseases. Two of our novel investigational cell therapies, bemdaneprocel (BRT-DA01) for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and OpCT-001 for the treatment of primary photoreceptor diseases are clinical stage programs. BlueRock was founded in 2016 as a joint venture of Versant Ventures and Leaps by Bayer. BlueRock Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Co-Op to join our Discovery Analytics team in New York City. This role involves designing and executing in vitro experiments to develop novel assays and biomarkers for our cell therapy products. The candidate will perform various assays, collect and analyze data, and present scientific findings. Hands-on laboratory work and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment are essential. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in cell therapy.

Requirements

  • Have (Currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university in biological sciences or related field of study).
  • Possess the (Ability to work a 6 month assignment, full-time).
  • Must be 18 years of age by the start of the internship/co-op.
  • Must have transportation to the site in New York, NY, USA.
  • This position is intended to be on-site and candidates will be informed should anything change.
  • Familiarity or exposure to standard analytics equipment and procedures including, but not limited to Flow cytometry, ELISA, DNA/RNA analysis, cell-based and screening assays, protein analysis, sterility, mycoplasma, endotoxin, cell-counting, qPCR, ddPCR, IHC/pathology.
  • Excellent organizational skills, sufficient to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • A basic understanding of aseptic techniques and technologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute in vitro experiments to assess and develop novel assays/biomarkers, techniques, and technologies to characterize cell therapy development processes.
  • Perform flow cytometry, ELISA, analytical, cell-based, PCR-based and other assays as required.
  • Collect, analyze, track, and trend data from various assays,
  • Perform additional duties to support the safe and efficient operation of the laboratory, and other duties as assigned.
