As a Roadway Design co-op, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of highway and roadway projects. These projects can range from small intersection and multimodal corridor improvement projects to large interchanges, multimodal improvements, bridge reconstruction projects and/or design-build projects. Working closely with experienced design engineers, you will be involved in all aspects of the design process, from concept development to final construction plans. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated new graduate to apply their technical knowledge and make a significant impact in the field of highway and roadway engineering. This opportunity entails being responsible for assisting assigned department(s) and/or project(s) by performing basic engineering related tasks which may reflect elements of standard post-secondary engineering curriculum. Below are examples of some of the work you may be involved in. Specific tasks performed by our Roadway Engineers include: •Assist in the design and development of highway and roadway projects, including geometric design, alignment layout, and cross-sections. •Producing and delivering highway design projects through a design submittal phase or construction phase. •Assists task lead/project manager in preparation of conceptual, preliminary, and final designs with supporting documentation. •Supports development of specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules. •Prepares roadway design elements including alignments, profiles and corridors in Civil 3D. •Prepares presentation materials for meetings. •Assists in preparing, coordinating, and facilitating public presentations and workshops •Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental engineers, structural engineers, and transportation planners, to integrate design elements seamlessly. The position is based out of our Boston, Massachusetts office. Relocation and housing are NOT provided for this position.
