About The Position

Prime Medicine is seeking a co-op for the Fall 2026 cycle with experience in life sciences and/or engineering to join the Automation Core team. The candidate will work within a highly collaborative team, supporting a variety of departments and groups through the maintenance and operation of Prime’s automation portfolio. The prime candidate will work with automation focused on plate-based assays, high-throughput screening, NGS, and LNP formulation, where they will learn to bridge the gap between bench-based development and robotic implementation while supporting a growing automation portfolio.

Requirements

• B.S./M.S. candidate in Biology, Life Sciences, or Engineering
• Basic programming skills and an avid interest in lab automation. Knowledge of basic biology and experience with liquid handling automation (especially Tecan) preferred
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team

Responsibilities

• Active system maintenance of current integrated robotic systems
• Development of high-impact protocol designs and SOPs
• Work with scientists and engineers to design and coordinate proof of concept experiments for new ideas and equipment
• Assist with general lab organization, such as lab cleanliness, consumable tracking and arrangement, moving equipment to optimize prioritized needs, etc…
• Aseptic cell culture
• Data analysis, interpretation, and presentations within the team
