The Civilian Co-Director of Fair and Impartial Policing (FIP) and Community Engagement is a part-time, civilian leadership role that works alongside a sworn co-director to help Vermont State Police strengthen trust, accountability, and fairness in policing. This position serves as a bridge between VSP and the communities it serves, especially communities that have been disproportionately impacted by policing. The role focuses on translating policy, data, and community input into practical changes across training, supervision, accountability, and culture. The position will work within the office, field, community, and legislative environments. Statewide travel required. The role may be required to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings with community partners. Due to the nature of the work, exposure to emotionally charged material and identity-based or public safety conflicts may occur. The full job description is available at this site.
