About The Position

Support the Wurtele Center for Leadership in the design and implementation of co-curricular leadership development programming and events. Create and facilitate workshops and trainings for students in leadership roles across campus to build collaborative leadership capacities. Attend and support implementation of center-sponsored events. Plan and coordinate the center’s promotional and communications efforts. Manage the center's intern team, including supporting them in the design and facilitation of events and engaging them as support for communications. Take appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and participate in the College's efforts to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1 to 5 years experience
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and demonstrated collaboration and project management skills are a must.
  • Experience with or commitment to working with a diverse community.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing and facilitating collaborative student leadership trainings and workshops in higher education highly desired.
  • Experience supervising student workers strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Programming Support and Facilitation (50%): Support the Co-Curricular Leadership Development Manager in designing, facilitating, and implementing co-curricular programming for the Center. Design and lead workshops and trainings for student groups and leadership cohorts as needed. Assist with organizing and implementing trainings for student leaders and Orientation workshops in the fall. Support student leaders across campus, including student organization leaders, residential life leaders, student interns/workers, and other positions of student leadership. Support the center's efforts to organize campus-wide traditions and events to honor student leadership and impact. Assist with the administration and implementation of the Center's signature co-curricular offerings, including talks, workshops, competitions, and other events.
  • Student Intern Supervision (35%): Supervise the center's student interns, including scheduling and maintaining task lists, managing deadlines, etc. Along with student interns, help to generate creative new approaches to student leadership development and support. Work with student interns to support center-sponsored events. Manage interns as they develop items for social media and the weekly newsletter.
  • Communications Coordination (15%): Work with center staff to plan and implement the center’s communications, including setting a schedule for and creating weekly newsletters and social media posts with the help of student interns. Serve as communications liaison for the center to coordinate with other units. Manage and update mailing lists, list events in college communications, proof and send center communications, and manage the design and printing of promotional materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Benefits

  • In addition to a competitive benefits package, pay for this role is typically between $21.23 - $25.94 hourly covering the middle half of market compensation.
