Purpose of Position: Provide supervision, direction, and oversight for clinical services and programs offered and implemented through the department. Provide leadership and coordinate clinical supervision for crisis coordination, care planning, new program development and service innovation. Work closely with the Administrative Director to maximize service revenue and compliance. Uphold the organization s vision, mission, and corporate values. Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organization s policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules.

  • Lead crisis response coordination and urgent care support.
  • Conduct crisis response coordination meetings for village incidents;
  • Coordinate and facilitate immediate care coordination and discharge planning meetings for persons with chronic behaviors/episodes on the Acute Care Unit, Day Shelter/Sobering Center, and other appropriate locations of presentation;
  • Collaborate with Director of Psychological Services on clinical service assignments for all villages;
  • Collaborate with Administrative Director on disciplinary actions, clinician interviews, and strategic planning;
  • Work closely with the Administrative Director to maximize service revenue and compliance;
  • Develop and oversee the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP).
  • Provide oversight/support for Intensive Outpaient Care (IOP).
  • Lead initiatives to increase services and programming across all clinical settings.
  • Develop standard operating procedure guide and review clinical policies and procedures and make recommendations for updates as necessary.
  • Meet twice monthly (minimally) with Director of Psychological Services, Clinical Leads, VBC Field Supervisors, Quality Assurance Supervisor, and Administrative Director/Assistant to discuss operational and programmatic concerns.
  • Maintain a modest caseload as needed;
  • Support on-call services as needed;
  • Maintain professional requirements and regulations for comprehensive quality care including licensure in Alaska within one year or hire;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Understanding of ASAM Levels 1.0, 2.1, and 2.5 and familiarity with higher levels of care
  • Demonstrable ability to diagnose Substance Use and Mental Health Disorders as defined in the DSM-V
  • Familiarity and experience with the latest substance use treatment methods and programs
  • Experience running group treatment programs
  • Familiarity using Electronic Health Records for recording of client assessments, treatment plans, progress, and other relevant information
  • Familiarity with documentation and licensing requirements for specific Medicaid services
  • Familiarity with regional and cultural customs and values with the ability to accumulate additional knowledge

  • Master's Degree or PhD in Social Work or related counseling field
  • 3 years working in a clinical setting in the behavioral health field
  • 3 years Supervisory
  • Must have LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), LMFT (Licensed Marital and Family Therapist) or equivalent state license in Alaska within one year of hire, or license as a Doctor of Psychology in Alaska within one year of hire
