About The Position

We are seeking a CNO Reverse Engineer Level 1 to perform in-depth analysis of hardware components, software applications, and operating systems to determine their functionality, code structure, and circuit design. This role supports the development of advanced Computer Network Operations (CNO) tools and techniques through technical research, reverse engineering, and hands-on prototyping. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills, experience using reverse engineering tools, and an interest in analyzing complex systems to uncover hidden functionality or vulnerabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Network Engineering, or a related field and 4 years of relevant experience— or — Master’s degree in a related field and 2 years of relevant experience — or —High School Diploma and 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience performing hardware or software reverse engineering
  • Strong programming background in Assembly, C, C++, C#, Java, Perl, or Python
  • Familiarity with reverse engineering tools and techniques
  • Understanding of software version control systems (e.g., Subversion, CVS, or Git)
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and presentation skills
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of full scope polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reverse engineering of hardware, software, and operating systems to determine functionality and design.
  • Analyze binary code, firmware, and applications to identify logic, structure, and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop proof-of-concept code, prototypes, and technical documentation based on reverse engineering results.
  • Use and administer hardware and software reverse engineering tools.
  • Program in Assembly, C, C++, C#, Java, Perl, or Python.
  • Utilize software version control systems such as Subversion or CVS.
  • Support the design and development of CNO tools and techniques.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, reports, and demonstrations of findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to apply reverse engineering insights to tool and capability development.
