About The Position

We are seeking an experienced CNC Universal Grinder to join our Components team in Georgetown, Ontario. This role is responsible for performing precision grinding operations on external and internal surfaces of metallic components, following engineering drawings, specifications, and Job Instruction Sheets. The successful candidate will ensure products meet customer quality expectations while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience and/or training in a precision machining environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet quality standards
  • Ability to work rotating day and afternoon shifts in Georgetown, Ontario

Responsibilities

  • Determine machining requirements, dimensional specifications, and setup needs from programs, process sheets, and blueprints
  • Set up and operate CNC Universal Grinder(s)
  • Mount and dress required grinding wheels
  • Load CNC programs into machine control
  • Secure components using magnetic chucks or related jigs for grinding operations
  • Verify machining dimensions against blueprints and grind to final specifications
  • Complete machining tasks within specified run times
  • Perform minor preventative maintenance and troubleshooting as required
  • Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged grinding wheels
  • Communicate issues with run times or product quality to Team Leader or Lead Hand
  • Report discrepancies to appropriate departments and recommend productivity/method improvements
  • Follow ISO guidelines, Job Instruction Sheets, and Tag Procedures
