About The Position

Join a precision manufacturing team producing tight-tolerance components for aerospace, defense, and other high-precision sectors. In this hands-on position, you will program and run CNC lathes, verify quality at every step, and keep production moving efficiently while meeting rigorous standards. A day in the shop You start by reviewing the traveler and blueprint, then create or edit G-code to match requirements. After setting tooling, offsets, and workholding, you run a first-article and check critical features using micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Throughout the shift, you monitor cycle times, perform in-process inspection, document results, and make fine adjustments to maintain accuracy. You keep your area clean, follow safety protocols, and handle routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

Requirements

  • 2+ years as a CNC Lathe Programmer/Operator.
  • Fluency in blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
  • Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on throughput and efficiency.
  • Experience on Haas and/or Mori-Seiki turning centers.
  • Familiarity with Mastercam or a comparable CAM platform.

Responsibilities

  • Program and operate CNC lathes from work instructions, prints, and G-code.
  • Set up machines, adjust tooling and offsets, and verify part conformance.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections with precision measuring tools.
  • Record measurements and process details to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Follow all safety procedures and sustain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Execute routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot machining issues.
