The CNC Toolmaker will independently set up and operate selected CNC tool room equipment to produce high volume tooling, gages, and other production components in a fast-paced environment. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, planning machine shop tool operations, and performing inspections. The Toolmaker will also assist in training Apprentice Toolmakers, follow safety protocols, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Hand operations for producing jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies are also part of the role, along with fitting and assembling these components. The position may involve collaborating with product designers to provide input on manufacturing capability for new products. Key responsibilities include developing and modifying CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, selecting appropriate tools and defining machining parameters, optimizing tool paths, debugging programs, and performing routine maintenance on CNC machines.
