About The Position

The CNC Tooling Production Operator is responsible for manufacturing new punch tooling for Salvagnini equipment with precise tolerances. This role requires close collaboration with other shifts to meet customer orders and involves equipment setup, light mechanical repairs, and basic preventative maintenance. The position includes extended training and operates on a 2nd shift schedule, with occasional overtime required.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in machining.
• General CNC machine operation and setup experience.
• Good mechanical aptitude and proficiency with basic mechanical hand tools.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain exacting standards.
• Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in 2D CAD, preferably AutoCAD.
• Experience with CNC O.D. Grinder programming and operation.
• Experience with Wire EDM and Sinker EDM equipment programming and operation.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture new punch tooling for S4 and S2 Salvagnini equipment.
• Interpret internal work orders for punch tooling created for customers.
• Read and interpret customer and company-created mechanical 2D tooling drawings.
• Use precision measuring tools, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to ensure accuracy.
• Perform basic computer tasks using Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate well with others.
• Conduct basic mechanical repairs on machinery, such as fixing air, hydraulic, and coolant leaks.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment, including filter changes and cleaning.
