The CNC Technician for Optical Polishing will be responsible for manufacturing precision optics and optical components. The role involves reading and interpreting optical component drawings and specifications, including GD&T, and interpreting interferograms, CMM reports, and other metrology data. The technician will independently set up and operate polishing equipment, lathes, flycutters, and other manual/CNC machines. Additionally, the technician will perform bi-weekly maintenance on polishing machines, use advanced testing equipment such as interferometers and coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and collaborate closely with manufacturing engineering and technicians. Maintaining a clean and safe work area is also a critical part of the job.
