The CNC Technician - Optical Polishing position involves the manufacture of precision optics and optical components. The technician will be responsible for reading and interpreting optical component drawings and specifications, including GD&T. They will also interpret interferograms, CMM reports, and other metrology data. The role requires the independent setup and operation of polishing equipment, lathes, flycutters, and other manual/CNC machines. Additionally, the technician will perform bi-weekly maintenance on polishing machines and use advanced testing equipment such as interferometers and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Collaboration with manufacturing engineering and technicians is essential, as well as maintaining a clean and safe work area.
