About The Position
As a CNC Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operation of world-class CNC machines, specifically focusing on milling technology. This position is with one of the premier machine builders in the world, recognized as a market leader in five-axis airfoil machining solutions for the aerospace and power generation industries. The role offers two distinct opportunities: one involves working at a fixed location in Middletown, Connecticut, with a schedule of four 10-hour shifts from Wednesday to Saturday, while the other is a travel technician position that requires Monday to Friday travel, primarily within a two-hour radius of Hartford, CT. Candidates for the travel position can reside in Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, or Massachusetts. Training for this role will encompass approximately 8 to 12 weeks, including shadowing sessions with experienced technicians. You will be responsible for utilizing machine tool manuals, technical documents, and both internal and OEM resources to research and resolve machine issues. It is essential to ensure that proper documentation is completed and submitted regarding the status of machine issues, repairs, and installations. Additionally, you will promote and perform preventative maintenance on customer machine tool equipment, maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the machine tool industry. Your responsibilities will include performing maintenance and repairs on precision multi-axis milling machines, troubleshooting and correcting complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system problems, and serving as a communication link between the customer and the company to ensure effective service delivery. Timely completion of all reports as per service department procedures is also required, along with maintaining regular contact with the Customer Support Center and Regional Service Manager as needed to fulfill job duties.
