About The Position
Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH) is looking for a CNC Tech I in Savannah, GA. Shift: First (04:15 to 14:45); other shifts may be available Pay Rate: $25.66 per hour Job Type: Full-time, Contract Contract Duration: 12 months (w/opportunity for extension) Benefits: coverage of up to one-half of employee's medical insurance premium for a base plan eight (8) paid holidays per diem split (if qualified) three (3) sets of uniforms (if applicable) opportunity to become a direct hire after ninety (90) days Experience/Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience in automated machine environment/CNC preferred. Purpose: Set up and operate automated machines to fabricate parts, applying knowledge of shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, maintainability materials and layout techniques.
Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- High School Diploma or GED required.

- Experience in automated machine environment/CNC preferred.
Responsibilities
- Under supervision, operate automated machine using existing programs.
- Remove/replace cutting tools and offsets as required.
- Inspect condition of tools and replace as needed.
- Inspect cut material/part prior to CNC operation to ensure conformity and compliance with blueprints, models, and/or engineering documents.
- Identify material and appropriate cutting tools.
- Set up material and inspect for serviceability.
- Monitor material supply.
- Validate preventative maintenance and minor repairs on machines.
- Alert maintenance of any repair/preventative issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Comply with 5S and Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
