About The Position

Eagle Metalcraft is seeking an experienced and driven CNC Team Lead / Programmer / Setup Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for leading daily shop floor operations, programming and optimizing CNC machines using Mastercam and/or Fusion 360, performing complex setups, and ensuring high-quality production standards. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience
  • 2+ years in a leadership or lead role preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Mastercam and/or Fusion 360
  • Experience with Haas, Fanuc, and Yasnac CNC controls
  • Advanced knowledge of G-code programming and toolpath optimization
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
  • Experience with multi-axis machining preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Use and knowledge of all precision measuring tools and equipment including CMM.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume production environments
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience implementing process improvements and reducing cycle times

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support CNC machinists to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production
  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam and/or Fusion 360
  • Develop efficient toolpaths for 3 and 4 axis vertical mills and horizontals
  • Set up and operate CNC machines with Haas, Fanuc, and Yasnac controls
  • Perform complex machine setups including tooling selection, workholding, offsets, and first-article validation
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
  • Troubleshoot machining, programming, and control-related issues
  • Monitor cycle times and drive process improvements to increase efficiency
  • Qualify and QC all parts to meet customer requirements on first article and production inspections.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and inspection requirements
  • Assist with quoting of new or revised parts and to suggest best methods to produce quality parts in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Train and mentor team members on machining best practices and CAM software usage
  • Coordinate workflow and communicate with engineering, quality, and production teams
  • Maintain tooling, fixtures, and equipment in proper working condition
  • Enforce safety standards and promote a culture of accountability
