The CNC Swiss Machinist/Programmer manages all aspects of development and optimization of CNC programs for new and current components. This role is responsible for programming, machine setup, following quality procedures and collaborating with management and production teams to meet manufacturing goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with programming and set-up in a CNC production Environment
  • Expertise in multi-axis Swiss CNC operations
  • Proficiency in G-code and CAD/CAM software
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities to resolve non-routine machine and process challenges
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to train, document and collaborate with leads and supervisors
  • In-depth knowledge of CNC operations, G-code programming and aerospace materials to enhance productivity
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail
  • Commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards with a focus on continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Development and optimization of CNC programs for new and current components
  • Set-up of machine and run programs to meet requirements of first article inspection
  • Follow company quality procedures related to job travelers and in process inspection
  • Cooperation with management and production personnel to meet weekly manufacturing goals
  • Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process, observing control point and equipment
  • Foster an atmosphere of cooperation within and between departments
  • Completes production plans by scheduling, resolving problems and reporting results
  • Maintains quality initiatives by enforcing organization quality policies and procedures, including but not limited to 6S, lean manufacturing and quality equals customer satisfaction initiatives
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Trains new and existing employees on manufacturing work instructions, policies, and procedures
  • Completes special projects as they are assigned by management
