About The Position

2nd Shift Swiss Machinist III 1. Job Duties and Tasks 1.1 Machinist I, and II team members to include hiring support, training, coaching, disciplinary action,        recommending review information on performance and suggest termination rational. 1.2 Train new set-up operators as needed. 1.3 Understand and edit any machine’s program using the CNC programming language. 1.4 Demonstrate programming skills on the machine and support training for other staff. 1.5 Possess ownership of the machine’s production, offering leadership as needed and being the responsible        party for all quality related to the assigned machines and team members. 1.6 Troubleshoot complex problems faced by the machinist team. 1.7 Work will all members of leadership and Quality to improve processes and fixture ideas. 1.8 Operate precision machinery as needed to support output expectations. 1.9 Set up the machines as directed by the blueprint. 1.10 Review screen pages and machine operation to detect minor programming issues. 1.11 Review and determine tool wear for maximum performance of the machines.                 1.12 Consistently meet output expectations and efficiency requirements                 1.13 Work with supervisor to recommend process improvements to resolve manufacturing issues or to help                        improve cycle time.                 1.14 Receive process traveler and verify revisions match on all paperwork.                 1.15 Receive material and load bar feeder or fixture, as necessary.                 1.16 Checks parts for accuracy according to inspection plan and part specifications.                 1.17 Verity the correct program is running on the machine and revision matches traveler.                 1.18 Stop machine to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications under precision.                 1.19 Red tag units that are out of specification (OOS) and submit to Quality Manager.                 1.20 Observe line clearance procedures 1.21 Ensure work area, machine, tooling, and parts are cleaned regularly and free from excess oil. 1.22 Maintain quality and acceptable production outputs. 1.23 Perform daily and routine preventive maintenance on assigned machine based on established standards 1.24 Offset the machine to the blueprint for part conformance as needed. 1.25 Replace tooling at the machine when required 1.26 Attend all assigned meetings 1.27 Follow all company policies and procedures. 1.28 Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three- Five years of machinist experience required, preferably within a medical device company.
  • Exposure to ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820 as it relates to the job.
  • Time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of testing equipment, statistical methods and control plans.
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills
  • High School or equivalent
  • English communication skills preferred.
  • General knowledge of precision measuring instruments. The instruments should include, but not limited to calipers, ID/OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators and plug and tread Go/No gauges.
  • Ability to read Blueprints
  • Required knowledge of basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, and algebra.
  • Skilled in adapting to a changing work environment, competing demands and ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Skilled in setting priorities that move projects through efficiently- achieving customer and quality objectives.
  • Skilled in working independently, following through with assignments with minimal direction.
  • Reasoning skills including but not limited to comparing, classifying, analyzing and coordinating- while minimizing duplication.
