About The Position

Kurt J. Lesker Company (KJLC) is seeking a hands-on CNC Supervisor to lead daily machining operations within our Process Equipment Division. This role blends active CNC machining with shop-floor leadership, ensuring safe, efficient production and on-time delivery of high‑precision components used in vacuum deposition equipment. The CNC Supervisor will set up and operate Haas CNC equipment (TL‑1 lathe, VF‑4 mill) and the plasma table, support and train machinists, and coordinate workflow to meet production schedules and quality standards.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of hands‑on experience in CNC and manual machining
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Experience with inspection processes and final detailing of precision components
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and lift up to 60 lbs unassisted (assistance required above 60 lbs)

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of shop lead or supervisory experience
  • Mastercam programming experience
  • 3–5 years of GTAW (TIG) welding experience
  • Experience machining components for vacuum technology or high‑purity systems
  • Experience using helium mass spectrometer leak detectors
  • Knowledge of materials commonly used in vacuum and semiconductor equipment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC and manual equipment, including Haas TL‑1 lathe, VF‑4 mill, and plasma table
  • Supervise machinists to ensure quality, safety, and productivity
  • Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Haas Visual Programming and Mastercam
  • Plan and prioritize shop workflow to meet production schedules and on‑time delivery
  • Train, mentor, and provide technical leadership to machining personnel
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure availability of materials, tooling, and supplies
  • Enforce work instructions, safety standards, company policies, and 6S
  • Perform layout, setup, machining, and tool setting for precision vacuum system components
  • Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T
  • Select and properly use cutting tools, fixtures, and inserts
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance
  • Perform helium leak detection and related quality evaluations
  • Complete preventive maintenance on CNC and shop equipment
  • Maintain tooling and fixture inventory
  • Perform other duties as assigned
