About The Position
This position is responsible for programming sheet metal cutting machines and press brakes, including Amada Laser Punch combination machines, Amada Ensis Laser, and Amada Punch systems. The role utilizes SolidWorks CAD software and SigmaNest CAM software to support metal fabrication operations, ensure accurate production, and assist with design optimization.
Requirements
- Associate degree or technical school certificate in a related field of study.
- Minimum of 3 years of SolidWorks CAD experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience and/or working knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
- Proficiency with technical tools, including Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities
- Program CNC sheet metal cutting machines and press brakes (Amada Laser Punch combination, Amada Ensis Laser, Amada Punch).
- Use SolidWorks CAD software to optimize designs based on customer-supplied drawings and models.
- Develop flat patterns for use in the CAM (SigmaNest) process.
- Verify incoming work orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist customers with design improvements and manufacturability recommendations.
- Create and provide detailed build drawings for the production floor as required.
- Support production with design, programming, and tooling-related issues.
- Manage change requests from customers and shop-floor personnel while maintaining controlled documentation.
- Review peer drawings and CNC programs for accuracy and quality.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned to support operational goals.
