Shape Precision. Every Part, Every Shift. Step into a low-volume/high-mix job shop where no two days look the same. As our CNC Setup Machinist, you’ll move seamlessly between conventional equipment and CNC machines—owning multiple changeovers, dialing in startup dimensions, and holding tight tolerances on both metallic and nonmetallic materials. Shift Incentive: $3.00 second shift premium What a Day Could Look Like Start by reviewing prints and job orders to confirm dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions (fixtures, feeds, speeds, depth of cut). Set up workholding: fixtures, chucks, collets, jaws—then establish startup dimensions for multiple runs throughout the day. Load and secure tools in holders and posts; zero and offset as needed. Run parts on both conventional lathes/mills/grinders and CNC lathes or milling centers. Collaborate with programmers and engineering to edit and improve CNC programs for efficiency and quality. Monitor operations, verify dimensions using calibrated gauges, and make adjustments to meet spec. Finish components with bench tools for clean, burr-free edges. Pitch in with other duties as assigned.
