About The Position

A CNC Setup Technician is responsible for CNC machine troubleshooting, updating tool paths and completing set ups for machines on 3rd Shift. The role involves recognizing tool paths by interpreting the program (G and M codes), performing machine set-ups and changeovers, and training associates on machining standards. The technician will troubleshoot daily production problems through root cause analysis techniques as they occur, participate in continuous improvement processes, and maintain safety and good housekeeping standards. AAM is a leading global Tier 1 Automotive and Mobility Supplier, designing, engineering, and manufacturing Driveline and Metal Forming technologies to support electric, hybrid, and internal combustion vehicles.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in high volume precision machining environment
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes and detailed knowledge of lathe tooling/programming
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required
  • Knowledge of Hard Turning, Green Turning, Milling, Broaching and Part Finishing machining processes
  • Knowledge to teach robot and gantry pickup points
  • Knowledge of Nachi robot controls
