About The Position

Cut a variety of materials or composite assemblies to specified shapes on a CNC router.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification.
• Blueprint reading.
• Textron Aviation Blueprint certification preferred.
• 6 + months of directly related fabrication experience.

Nice To Haves

• Textron Aviation Blueprint certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates a computer numerical control router to cut parts and materials.
• Work from oral and written instructions, setup sheets and NC readouts.
• Reviews setup sheet, secures stock to machine bed, and loads specified router and drill bits.
• Observes machine operations for proper functioning.
• Uses minimal judgment to override feed and speed using manual data input to prevent broken tools and damaged material.
• Removes excess material and parts when operations are complete.
• Coordinate machine operation on both tool proving and production parts under guidance of others.
• May suggest basic changes on sequencing, feeds, and part layout.
• Uses hand tools such as wrenches, hammers, and measuring instruments such as scale and tape.
• Responsible only for own work.
• Performs other related duties as required.
