About The Position

Responsible for programming and operation of CNC wood routers to manufacture products to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Requirements

  • Engineering and Technology — Be able to apply principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Understand and interpret router files.
  • Oversee cutting strategies to maintain precise cutting and bit life.
  • Strategize the best use of new and remnant materials.
  • Load and unload sheet goods onto the router bed.
  • Clean, trim, deburr, and collate finished pieces.
  • Maintain machines according to the maintenance schedule.
  • Communicate problems and progress to technical management.
  • Assist other departments when time allows.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Proficient with tools and construction materials.
  • Strong computer skills

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1-4 years of experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Repetitive use of feet and hands
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Ability to push and pull upwards of 75 lbs. repeatedly

Responsibilities

  • Performs all tasks safely and responsibly.
  • CNC programming of Holzher CNC router (CAD/CAM a plus).
  • Load and unload the router.
  • Initiate programs and operate CNC for best quality output.
  • Read and interpret plans, sketches, and shop drawings.
  • Work with designers and management to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a high level of production while maintaining quality.
  • Responding to quick turn-around orders.
  • Performing well in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Determine the type and dimensions of wood stock to be used.
  • Nesting to minimize waste or raw stock.
  • Maintain and clean both the equipment and work area.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
