About The Position

The CNC Router Operator plays a key role in our fabrication department by producing precision-cut materials for custom signage. This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to independently manage routing operations while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and taking ownership of their craft.

Requirements

  • Experience operating a CNC Router in a production or fabrication environment (required).
  • Sign industry experience (required).
  • Strong working knowledge of file setup, design preparation, and machine programming.
  • Proficiency using EnRoute, Composer, or comparable routing software.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working with power tools, loud machinery, and industrial materials.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain CNC routers (primarily Multicam routers).
  • Set up and execute routing operations using EnRoute software.
  • Prepare and load materials, secure workpieces, and verify machine settings.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust tooling, feeds, and speeds for optimal performance.
  • Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
  • Utilize Composer or similar programs to design, adjust, and prepare files for routing.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on CNC equipment.
  • Immediately report mechanical issues, defects, or safety concerns.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures, PPE requirements, and fabrication best practices.
  • Coordinate with project managers, designers, and fabrication staff to meet deadlines.
  • Lead daily operations within the routing department, ensuring smooth workflow.
  • Maintain organized material storage, proper labeling, and clean workspaces.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, accuracy, and waste reduction.
