Under the direction of the Working Shop Supervisor, the CNC Roll Grinder Operator is responsible for setting up the CNC grinder from drawings, selecting proper tools, making necessary adjustments, and operating the grinder in the finish grinding operation of roll bodies. The operator uses measuring instruments to check pieces for size or finish, unloads finished pieces with the aid of a floor-operated overhead crane, changes water, removes grindings, performs minor repairs, assists in major repairs, reports defective materials or faulty equipment to the supervisor, and lubricates equipment while maintaining the machine and area in a clean and orderly manner.
