TRUMPF is seeking candidates for an internship in the Sheetmetal Fabrication Department at our Farmington, CT location. This internship will provide a college-level student with practical and professional experience that will enhance and compliment their classroom learning. This internship will be May 2026 to December 2026 for at least 32 hours a week.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is required.
  • Strong inter-personal communication skills and ability to work as a team player.
  • Must be a student enrolled in an accredited university or institution pursuing an undergraduate’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Dynamically nest for the laser cut machine and the combination machine.
  • Analyze engineering detail drawings for standardization, material, heat treatment and elements of design in relation to programming and applying standard data for times for NC/CNC machines
  • Specify definite pattern on a program sheet for the way a part will be machined
  • Develop necessary instruction information and make drawings indicating where to place the work piece on the machine and how to hold it
  • Design fixtures in order to manufacture production and customer parts.
  • Assist other persons to make sure the programming time, tape punching and programming is correct
  • Create routings according to TRUMPF standards
  • Make manual changes to machine code
  • Assure the actual setup, cycle and secondary times are reflected properly in the SAP routing
  • Operate machining center when operators are absent
