We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our client's growing team in Whatcom County. This role focuses on programming, setup support, and tooling design for a variety of CNC machines, including 3, 4, and 5-axis Haas mills as well as Haas live-tool and dual-spindle lathes. The ideal candidate will need to be confident in MasterCam programming, machining fundamentals, troubleshooting, and supporting operators through production. This is a hands-on, high-impact direct hire role with competitive pay, stability, and long-term growth potential.

  • Program CNC mills and lathes using MasterCam 2024 with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Create toolpaths for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis Haas machines, including Haas live-tool and dual-spindle lathes.
  • Troubleshoot setup issues and support machinists during job launches.
  • Perform first article inspections and ensure program accuracy.
  • Collaborate with machine operators to optimize production flow and resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in estimating to determine setup times and run times.
  • Accurately track time spent on programming and setup tasks.
  • Design and manufacture custom work holding fixtures for new jobs.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment; lift up to 35 lbs as needed and perform repetitive tasks safely.
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience (MasterCam required).
  • Strong ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, GD&T, and technical documentation.
  • Proficient math skills for machining calculations, including trigonometry.
  • Proven experience machining various materials (aluminum, stainless, exotic metals, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of machining fundamentals, including speeds, feeds, tooling, and cutting strategies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and optimize toolpaths and cycle times.
  • Experience designing custom fixtures, jigs, or work holding solutions.
  • Experience supporting operators or leading new job launches.
  • Lean/continuous improvement mindset.
