The machinist/ CNC programmer is responsible for creating parts from drawings and/or solid files. These parts are for internal use and quantities are usually less than four per drawing. Equipment used will be 3 axis mills, lathes, and surface grinders. This position is also responsible for maintaining the equipment, managing the tooling inventory, and ordering required material.

  • Program, setup, and operate numerically controlled machines.'
  • Setup and operate manual control machines.
  • Determine proper machining methods.
  • Estimate time required for packet completion.
  • Design and create custom fixturing.
  • Selecting the correct speed and feed for the cutter material combination.
  • Identify required tooling or work holding devices.
  • Hold tolerance on parts that require heat treatment
  • Document procedures such as set up sheets, tooling library, etc.
  • Plan day to day activities and take individual initiative in performing daily workflow.
  • Furnish or obtain information over the telephone, in writing, and in person with internal and external contacts. Requires normal courtesy and discretion in dealing with others.
  • Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with Regal Rexnord policies, 6S procedures, and in line with Regal Rexnord core values.
  • 3 or more years of experience in CNC programming or a degree in CNC programming or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 or more years of experience as a machinist.
  • Effectively communicate and work in a team environment.
  • Accurately read and comprehend moderately complex material (engineering drawings, programs, blueprints, G codes).
  • Knowledge and Utilization of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to write to explain or describe moderately complex or information
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Experience in SolidWorks preferred.
  • Experience in Mastercam preferred.
