A manufacturing organization in Chicopee, Massachusetts is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support the production of precision components for the Aerospace, Defense, and Space industries. The ideal candidate will play a key role in New Product Introduction (NPI), process development, and technical support across machining operations.

  • Serve as an integral member of the engineering team and a key contributor to New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
  • Review and interpret product design information, including 2D drawings, GD&T requirements, 3D models, and related specifications to develop optimal machining and production processes.
  • Select all required tooling and fixturing for production; assist with fixture design and participate in fabrication of setup components.
  • Use Vericut simulation software to analyze programs prior to production, identifying errors, collision risks, and efficiency issues.
  • Set up, operate, and program multi-tasking and milling machines using Mazatrol Conversational, G-Code, and Mastercam.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to machinists in daily machining operations.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process and efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and management to source and integrate machine upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality standards, all company procedures, and state/federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • 3–5 years of recent CNC programming experience in a machine shop supporting Aerospace, Defense, or Space markets (required).
  • High school diploma required; technical certificate or associate degree in machining preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience setting up, operating, and programming CNC milling or multi-tasking machines.
  • Strong experience with Mazatrol conversational programming, G-Code (EIA/ISO), Mastercam, and Vericut (required).
  • Proficient with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers (ID/OD), depth gauges, and indicators.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications with full understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong knowledge of cutting tools, tool holders, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used in CNC machining.
  • Adaptability to changing work priorities and production environments.
  • technical certificate or associate degree in machining preferred.
