About The Position

Produces machined parts by programming, setting up and operating a HAAS and or FADAL 3,4 and 5 axis CNC mill; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience as a CNC Mill machinist
  • Proficient in the use of CNC machinery operations, set-up tooling, fixtures, measuring equipment, programming and editing programs created in Mastercam.
  • Knowledge of geometry and trigonometry concepts.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements relating to CNC operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to interact productively and professionally with individual engineers, department managers, machine operators and other production personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use tools, cutting tools and gauges.
  • Ability to read blueprints or work to verbal instructions.
  • Ability to machine and measure 0.0001” or less tolerances.
  • Ability to remain flexible towards changes in scheduled duties daily.
  • Ability to work on own initiative without constant supervision.
  • You must be able to regularly lift to 20 pounds, with occasional lifts of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and manufactures components by reading work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Design and machine precision tooling and fixtures for jobs.
  • Edit programs when necessary.
  • Perform daily maintenance on machines and cleanup of general work areas.
  • Liaison Engineering and R&D departments relating to prototype parts.
  • Maintain a neat and organized workstation as per health and safety standards.
  • Perform in-process inspections of production parts to maintain and ensure dimensional accuracy. All work must be recorded on machine shop travelers.
