Summary/Objective: The Molding Tool Room CNC Programmer is an experienced CNC Programmer with a background in designing, modifying, and repairing mold tooling. In this position, the Tool room CNC Programmer will be skilled in interpreting complex blueprints, understanding technical specifications, and performing detailed data analysis to make informed decisions for tool cuts. The Tool Room CNC Programmer will represent the molding tool room in cross-functional meetings, effectively communicating technical requirements and project updates. The successful candidate will be collaborative, have exceptional communication skills, and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Experience working independently and following directions.
  • Injection molding experience (preferred)
  • Experience using lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Demonstrate a positive and team focused attitude.
  • Must be willing to work overtime.
  • Must have advanced computer skills.
  • Must be able to comprehend simple and moderately complex instructions.
  • This position requires frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. and standing for long periods of time.
  • Interpreting project blueprints and understanding the specifications and requirements
  • Designing and programming computer numerical controlled (CNC) machine tools using CAD/CAM software
  • Setting up the CNC machines, including loading raw materials and conducting test runs to ensure a successful operation
  • Creating and maintaining documentation and records of CNC programs
  • Modifying existing programs to enhance efficiency or to adapt to new production requirements
  • Inspecting the produced components for conformity to design specifications, using precision measuring tools
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Troubleshooting machine malfunctions and conducting minor repairs
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high-quality standards within tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gate, etc.
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Maintain maintenance records on the company computer system
  • Work independently
  • Read and interpret technical blueprints
  • Work from complicated blue prints, sketches, and instructions
  • Safely use hand tools, grinders, calipers, gages, calipers,
  • Provide PM service of Tool Room equipment
  • Disassemble, clean, reassemble dies, mold, jigs, fixtures
  • Make tool modification, completing repairs
  • Actively participate in training associates
  • Use lathes, welder, EDM, bench grinders,
  • Program CNC machines according to production needs
  • Set up and operate CNC machines
  • Maintain and repair CNC equipment as necessary
  • Ensure machines produce parts to the appropriate specifications
  • Perform quality checks on finished products
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management
  • Adhere to all quality and safety codes
  • Operate overhead cranes
  • Other duties as assigned
