About The Position

The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, testing, implementing and maintaining programs used by the CNC equipment to machine engineered and production parts.

Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend and follow job safety guidelines
  • Able to comprehend and follow directions on a load card, SOR (if applicable) or OMS.
  • Able to lift parts from floor to operation level frequently
  • Skilled in the use of air driven hand tools
  • Capable of setting up forms/fixtures to specifications
  • Understands/follows proper lockout procedures
  • Able to perform preventative maintenance to tools/equipment
  • Able to maintain forms as appropriate.
  • Able to use required gauges and measuring devices
  • Able to use load moving devices
  • Ability to identify nonconformities

Responsibilities

  • Process procedures used to transfer the CNC programs to the shop floor.
  • Record keeping process for all CNC programs and related data storage, data transfer and data maintenance issues.
  • Act as the first line of contact regarding CNC programs.
  • File naming process and format of CNC programs.
  • Support the implementation of all system changes and enhancements to CNC equipment and software.
  • Assist in backup methods and disaster recovery requirements.
  • Assist and help train others as needed, on programming of CNC equipment and software.
  • Keep work space and equipment clean and well organized.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and uses required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Implement process improvements.
  • Support the Vision and Guiding Principles and other policies of Kimball International and National Office Furniture.
  • Follow and support the Quality system.
  • Performs job rotation as directed.
  • Support our Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Initiate and support continuous improvement projects
  • Participate and support in part routings through production
