The CNC Programmer will be responsible for programming tool cutting paths for CNC Horizontal and Vertical Mills, providing essential support to machinists in both prototype and production environments. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to new challenges, with a focus on utilizing GibbsCAM, Mastercam, or Fusion software to create and revise CNC programs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in CNC programming and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in their work.

  • Program tool cutting paths for CNC Horizontal and Vertical Mills.
  • Utilize GibbsCAM, Mastercam, or Fusion to generate CNC programs for new products and revise existing programs.
  • Update and maintain proper documentation and prints for all projects.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely on projects and changes to internal departments.
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills to solve challenging problems.
  • Attend relevant internal and technical meetings and design reviews as required.
  • Work self-directed and rely on extensive experience to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Support changes in project work holding and good machining practices, identifying risks and supporting contingency plans.
  • Maintain open communication with engineering and production teams.
  • Keep work area clean and organized, adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure programs result in a fit and finish that is free of burrs and sharp edges.
  • Create detailed setup instructions for setup staff.
  • Design and program work holding fixtures.
  • 2 years of CNC programming experience.
  • Experience with GibbsCAM, Mastercam, or Fusion software.
  • Experience in CAD software.
  • Knowledge of machining all metals and plastics used in CNC manufacturing.
  • Experience with vertical and horizontal high-speed 3D milling.
  • Ability to program from a 3D model and meet detailed surface finish requirements.
  • Experience in Computer Aided Machining (CAM) software.
  • Experience programming with full documentation handoff.
