About The Position

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Supports machining by planning and completing assigned production activities in the machine shop. Responsible for work order status to support Production commitment dates. Responsible for set-up and verification of first part on CNC machines and to fabricate precision parts per engineering specifications.  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Writing of CNC programs using CAD CAM software Virtual Gibbs Coordination of program information to set up personnel Ensure a quality product is produced on schedule Develop formalized work instructions during the first article build Develop CNC programs using Virtual Gibbs programming software Perform Lead inspection duties  OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Setup and operation of manual and CNC milling centers Provide support for production repair and prototype operations as needed Assist in training of team members as needed SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors
  • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary
  • Ability to adhere to workplace rules
  • Knowledge of all related Machine Shop practices
  • Ability to read and interpret machine and assembly drawings
  • Ability to use precision measurement devices
  • Ability to accomplish directives from management with a minimum of supervision
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Ten or more years of experience in machine shop production.
  • Computer experience with Microsoft products
  • CNC programming in a Cad Cam environment
  • Ability to read and interpret machine and assembly drawings

Responsibilities
