We are seeking a dynamic and innovative CNC Programmer-Machine Operator in our doors department supporting our new equipment, r esponsible for operating manual or CNC machine tools to produce precision parts, produce small or large orders or unique parts, and ensure products meet precise specifications.

Requirements

  • Experience with 3D CAM Software Experience
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Familiarization with Solid Works
  • Experience with Program using MDI
  • Working knowledge of shop math
  • Able to modify programs in response to problems
  • Requires a successful completion either through a state sponsored vocational school, community college or technical school certification program in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • Extensive PC knowledge and experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Windows Platform.
  • MS Office power user
  • Programmer must have knowledge of metal punching, shearing, laser and brake work.
  • Knowledge and experience should have been gained through actual operation of forming equipment and programming.
  • A combined education and on the job training in a manufacturing environment; 2-4 years previous experience with programming CNC machines
  • Good math skills and strong technical expeertise

  • Analyze drawings, blueprints, specifications and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates
  • Regularly required to walk, sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Gross manual dexterity is also required.
  • Ability to reach with arms and hands; bend, kneel, crouch and/or crawl as well as the ability to see and hear.
  • Able to work overtime and on weekends when required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move about in office, warehouse and manufacturing facilities

Responsibilities

  • Actively operate CNC equipment to manufacture components within specified tolerances, ensuring productivity, quality , and on-time delivery requirements.
  • Select, setup and changeover all required tooling without supervision.
  • Ensure parts meets blueprints and engineering specifications through in-process inspections and verification of setups.
  • Develop, edit and optimize complex CNC programs to improve cycle time, reduce scrap ad maximize machine efficiency.
  • Lead process planning for new and existing parts, including tooling selection, fixture design input.
  • Diagnose machine issues (quality defects, tool wear, chatter, dimensional drift) and implement corrective actions to ensure consistent first-pass yield.
  • Perform and oversee complex setups, train junior machinist, and provide technical guidance to improve team capability and shop performance.
  • Perform and document scheduled preventative maintenance on CNC equipment.
