Requirements

  • Solid understanding of CNC programming properties and methods
  • Proficient in Mastercam and/or Hypermill
  • Strong understanding of GD&T symbols and their application
  • Strong written and verbal English language communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and proven ability to mentor others
  • Pass a post-offer background verification
  • Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Sigma Design Core Values.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes G or M code and CAM software proficiently for 2D/3D toolpaths
  • Analyzes engineering drawings, blueprints, models, and design data to develop CNC programs, setup sheets, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates
  • Applies GD&T from complex blueprints accurately
  • Tests accuracy of settings and programs independently
  • Configures tools and ensures efficient production for moderately complex parts
  • Reviews designs for manufacturability and suggests improvements
  • Inspects parts using precision measuring tools within tight tolerances
  • Operates machines independently and monitors operation, making adjustments as needed
  • Mentors entry-level programmers and machinists
  • Collaborates across teams to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Assists with process documentation
  • Follows all safe work practices & safety rules
  • Communicates recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality
  • Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.
