Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • CNC programming experience with a focus on 3D parts for various machine types (lathes, mills, and mill-turns).
  • Proficiency in CAM systems like NX (preferred) and simulation tools like Vericut.
  • Experience with PLM systems (Teamcenter preferred) and Master Model architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and intermediate Excel functions (e.g., data analysis, macros).

  • Experience with fixture and tooling design.
  • Prior work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with project and budget management.
  • Hands-on experience implementing new equipment and technologies into production.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate CNC programs for lathes, mills, and mill-turn machines, focusing on moderately complex 3D parts.
  • Design and implement fixtures and tooling, including life management and quoting.
  • Utilize CAM systems (NX preferred) for offline programming and perform simulation using tools like Vericut to identify collisions, overtravel, and setup issues.
  • Improve cycle times and document setups to enhance machining efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Support the transition of new products from development to production.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes using continuous improvement methodologies (CORE Operating System).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Value Streams, Quality Assurance, EH&S, and Design Engineering, to address and resolve technical challenges.
  • Manage projects to implement new equipment and technologies into production environments.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives related to labor, tooling, and process improvements.
  • Drive reductions in scrap and rework.
