The work involves developing NC programs for complex aircraft components machined on 4 and 5 axis CNC machines conforming to engineering model tolerance requirements. You will analyze engineering models to define part configuration through manufacturing process and determine type and sequence of machining operations. Proper cutter selections for each machining operation will be made with knowledge of proper machining methods specific to titanium, aluminum, and magnesium. You will select NC Program options to provide the most efficient machining methods and requirements for each part operation, and test and modify existing NC programs for engineering changes or program improvements.
