About The Position

The CNC Programmer is responsible for completing assigned engineering tasks to build production equipment and produce quality plastic parts that meet customer requirements. This role involves providing tooling support to various departments and optimizing the performance of CNC machining centers.

Requirements

  • High school education coursework or GED required.
  • Two-year tool & die degree or four years experience in tooling or mold making preferred.
  • Two years experience working with CNC machining centers.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and knowledge of Windows based CAD programs such as Master cam, AutoCAD, and Solid Works.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and utilize instructions and short correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and understand complicated designs and drawings.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Willingness to attend conferences, classes, or training to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to direct work tasks to others if assigned the lead role in a project.

Responsibilities

  • Build components for new tools, existing tools, and molds using machining centers and tool room equipment based on designs from the engineering department.
  • Read and interpret plans from paper drawings or computer files.
  • Measure, examine, diagnose, and troubleshoot new and existing molds to make improvements or corrections using toolmakers scope.
  • Collaborate with project leaders to ensure projects are completed quickly and precisely.
  • Clean and maintain production tools and molds.
  • Perform other duties as required.
