About The Position

CNC Production Supervisor Fort Wayne, IN Position Overview We are seeking an experienced CNC Production Supervisor to lead daily machining operations in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving production performance, maintaining quality and safety standards, and developing a skilled team of machinists. The ideal candidate brings strong technical machining knowledge combined with proven leadership and operational oversight experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of hands-on machining experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, setups, tooling selection, and inspection methods.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting GD&T.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience building, motivating, and holding teams accountable.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and standard production reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise day-to-day CNC and manual machining operations to ensure production goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently met.
  • Manage and develop a team of machinists by providing coaching, technical guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Coordinate workflow and prioritize jobs to optimize labor and machine utilization in a high-mix environment.
  • Monitor part quality, machining tolerances, and adherence to blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications.
  • Partner with Engineering, Planning, and Quality teams to resolve technical challenges and scheduling constraints.
  • Support setup efficiency, tooling strategy, and process optimization to reduce downtime and increase throughput.
  • Track production metrics, maintain accurate reporting, and ensure proper documentation within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Promote and enforce safety standards, company policies, and 5S practices to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean manufacturing and preventive maintenance efforts.
