About The Position

The Press Brake Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the forming department. This role involves hands-on operation and setup of press brakes and related forming equipment, while providing leadership and direction to press brake operators. The Team Lead ensures safe operation, quality output, and adherence to production schedules.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Three to five years of press brake or metal forming experience required
Forklift certification required or ability to obtain
Proficient in using measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers
Strong understanding of press brake and forming equipment operation
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machine interfaces
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Ability to safely operate a forklift
Equipment Troubleshooting
Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills
Mechanical Assembly Skills
Experience in a Manufacturing Environment

Responsibilities

Assist with interviewing and selection of new team members
Train and onboard new employees
Conduct performance evaluations, including 30/60/90-day and annual reviews
Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and skill development
Monitor attendance and performance, escalating issues as appropriate
Operate, set up, and shut down press brakes and other forming equipment, including shear, spot welder, PEM insert machines, and rollers
Maintain and utilize required inspection and basic hand tools
Mentor and support operators to ensure proper machine use and quality standards
Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed
Read and interpret blueprints and solve complex forming requirements
Participate in daily and periodic production meetings to align departmental priorities
Maintain accurate records related to performance and disciplinary actions
