Summary of Position The CNC Operator is responsible for the timely and accurate production of metallic machined parts per the specifications and requirements of the shop traveler. The CNC Operator is also responsible for error-free processing of each order, and for completing the necessary paperwork and computer data entries associated with the CNC Production Process. Responsibilities and Duties As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the CNC Operator. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require. Operate, maintain, clean, setup, load, and unload the CNC Router Effectively and efficiently carry out production process: Receive order from Production Planner Allocate, pull, and load material Set up machine and run job Inspect products Clean, label, and stage finished parts Offload scrap or stock and return any materials as needed Process job though the system and maintain an organized, clean work area Verify quality to ensure the product meets the customer’s specifications Regularly clean and maintain equipment and machinery Program and troubleshoot CNC Router functions Understand objectives and mission Practice a willingness to learn production and distribution methodology Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, quality standards and procedures Keep immediate work area clean and organized throughout the day Cross-train other team members as assigned
