ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS Reviews work orders, blueprints and/or drawings, specifications or setup instructions to determine dimensional specifications, setup requirements, materials required & work procedures Installs proper cutting tools and workpiece holders such as blocks, risers & clamps Lifts raw materials either manually or using lifting device to position & secure material on machine table or in holding fixture Edits programs as required and enters commands to instruct machine on desired outcome Monitors machine operations & control panel displays to detect malfunctions & compare readings to specifications Stops machine operations according to prescribed sequence of actions Uses precision measuring instruments to check finished workpiece dimensions & ensures conformance to specifications Confers with supervisor or programmer to resolve machine malfunctions & production errors; obtains approval to continue production when variances are noted Maintains cleanliness & functionality of machines, tools, parts & work areas Corrects safety hazards when recognized and able; reports those unable to correct to supervisor &/or Safety representative Participates in LEAN initiatives as required Other duties as assigned CNC II Provide guidance and general oversight of CNC I operator(s) Trouble-shoots & problem-solves some of the more advanced issues arising on the CNC machines in the normal course of daily work activities QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma 2-3 years CNC operations experience; HAAS and Fidal CNC Machines 3-5 years for a CNC II role Demonstrated experience with SolidWorks, G-code & Master CAM software highly preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Exemplify Rohrer’s Core Values: Partnership – Actively develop relationships with our internal team and external partners to create shared value Integrity – Building trust as we operate under the guiding principles of honesty, decency, and ethics Drive – Engaged and passionate about proactively leading and participating in continuous improvement Initiative – Develop creative and inventive ideas that shape our markets and achieve our strategic objectives Basic computer skills Ability to read technical drawings & schematics Demonstrated mechanical skills Ability to problem solve and make decisions within one’s own judgment 2D & 3D programming skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment and with minimal supervision Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production Ability to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences Available Shift & Compensation: Monday - Friday 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM, OT as needed Availability to train on 1st Shift a plus! Compensation for this position is $25-$30 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
