About The Position

The CNC Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating 3-axis CNC machinery to produce precision parts and assemblies for custom, interactive exhibits. The role involves using CAD/CAM software to interpret designs, generate toolpaths, and ensure high-quality fabrication in accordance with project specifications and production schedules. This is a Special Project position expected to run 12/1/2025-03/23/2026.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience with CNC programming in a shop environment
  • Minimum 2 years' experience operating a CNC Mill or Router.
  • Thorough knowledge of Aspire, VCarve or similar CAM software
  • Working knowledge of 3 axis CNC mill/router operation and practices
  • Working knowledge of drafting, cabinetmaking, and mechanical engineering and methods for communicating both visually and verbally
  • Ability to work with designers and fabrication personnel to resolve mechanical, electronic, and technical problems related to exhibit design
